Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) is a three-day experience in Christian Living. It is designed for high school juniors through adults who are searching for goals, for acceptance, for meaning, for community, for values, for God. Parents, those who work or volunteer with youth, and interested adults are also encouraged to participate in this renewal weekend.
At TEC you experience:
TEC is held at various parishes throughout the Diocese. TEC takes place from Saturday at 10:00 a.m. to Monday 5:00 p.m. The weekend must be experienced in its entirety. Please do not arrive late or leave early. A list of TEC dates and locations can be found on the Calendar page.
What do I bring?
Clothing should be comfortable and casual. One change of dress clothing for the Sunday Liturgy is needed. You will also need a sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress or cot, towels and toiletries.
Cost:
The cost is $50.00. Please send this with your application. A reservation will not be held without at least a $25.00 deposit. In some cases your parish may pay part of your fee. Applications should be received by the Diocese at least 10 days before the date of the retreat. If needed, financial assistance is available.
Special Note:
No more than 6 students from the same school can go together on a TEC weekend. Preference will be given to applications received first. Sign up early, beat the rush!
Can't miss a day from school?
Think again! Most retreats are scheduled on 3 day weekends. Also, going on a TEC retreat qualifies as a "guidance day" and not as an unexcused absence. Most schools recognize the need for students to spend time getting ready for other things in life, your spirituality is no exception!
